| In the year 2000 Vitrofibras decided to expand the market for the various insulating products it manufactured. It was therefore necessary to build a second insulating line. This required demolishing the existing melting furnace and building a new one with twice the capacity of the original furnace so as to be able to service both production lines. This determination would permit Vitrofibras to attend to the national market and extend itself to the international market.
Systec was in charge of the Project Management that coordinated:
- Preparation of the executive project
- Contracting the participating companies
- The administrative process
- Successfully bringing the project to its close
Preparation of the “Master Program”, use of the “Primavera” Program and Systec’s ample experience were the determining factors in the prevention of problems and in alternate solutions that permitted finishing the work on time and as required.
In all, 21 contracts in foreign currency and 110 in local currency were administered and coordinated. This meant that Systec had to participate with more than 100 national and foreign contractors, and evaluate 2,045 activities, of which 194 turned out to be critical.
The work was finished in the record time of 13 months, and the international parameters of quality in the materials used were complied with. |
