AUDITING THE ARRIAGA-HUIXTLA HIGHWAY

This highway, 194 kilometers long, joins the towns of Arriaga and Huixtla, in the state of Chiapas. It passes by the towns of Tonalá, Pijijiapan, Mapastepec, Acacoyahua, Escuintla, and Comatitlán, and its development required constructing 143 bridges.

In the development of the superhighway, that took place during 1993 and 1994, five construction companies participated, four of which were dedicated to working different stretches of the highway and one was in charge of constructing the larger bridges.

The Secretariat of Communications and Transport (SCT) is the government authority that owns the highways and is in charge of managing them.

Systec checked the documented technical information of each stretch of highway assigned to the construction companies, and also physically verified the progress, the quality and the work program.

The Systec group consisted of specialists in the construction of highways and in asphalt production (this last was North American).
